Machine Translation & Polysemantic phrases: Tackling the Issues of Ambiguity

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to build the linguistic resources of the Arabic language, according to a methodological conception that combines the  translation approaches ( Rule-based Statistical and Linguistic), in order to be able to make an in-depth description of the multiword Expressions at the morphological, syntactic, semantic, pragmatic and stylistic levels, as well as the determination of the mechanisms that characterize the ambiguity resulted from to the translation processes, as a real parameter to test the operationality of linguistic analyzers governing their mechanisms, and describing the Arabic language within the system of mental representation of natural languages and make it capable of interacting within the framework of an acculturation system aimed at the construction of a bilingual dictionary.
